Chiropractic care can be tailored to meet the needs of children of all ages and is safe for the entire spine as well as the extremities. Chiropractic treatment for children is very gentle, and often, the goals of care can be achieved with light muscle work and mobilization.

I work with children based on their comfort level, as well as the comfort level of their parents. Communication and clear explanations of any recommended treatments are always discussed before care begins. Children often respond quickly to chiropractic care and may not require many treatments for a given injury or complaint.

Older children are commonly treated for sports injuries, growing pains, headaches, slips/trips/falls, post-illness fatigue (such as after prolonged bed rest or vomiting episodes), and general neck or back pain.

Infant care involves extremely gentle techniques aimed at helping babies release tension in their bodies. Tension can originate in utero—for example, from being in a breech position—or during birth, from a challenging birth, being born with a hand on the face, or experiencing shoulder dystocia.
Other signs of tension in infants may include:
-Difficulty latching or feeding
-Favoring one breast or requiring different feeding positions between sides
-Colic
-Constant arching of the back
-Flattening of the head
-Asymmetries in movement or limb use
-Torticollis (persistent head tilt)
-Delays or difficulty in meeting motor milestones

Chiropractic care can be safe and beneficial throughout all stages of pregnancy and the postpartum period. Dr. Hali uses a variety of specialized techniques for pregnant and postpartum patients. Adjustment techniques are often very gentle and may be combined with different soft-tissue therapies, which can range from light to deep in intensity. Dr. Hali is ICPA-certified in the Webster Technique and has completed several levels of Dynamic Body Balancing. She incorporates these methods along with traditional chiropractic adjustments and her additional deep tissue training in A.R.T. and N.M.R.

Pregnancy care helps ensure the body experiences as little stress and discomfort as possible during the many changes of pregnancy. The goal is to promote optimal movement and alignment of the body and pelvis, maximizing pelvic function for birth and minimizing uterine constraint to encourage the baby to move as freely as possible. This care often focuses on the low back and hips but may also address the upper back, neck, arms, or legs to relieve discomfort caused by posture changes, ligament laxity, fluid retention, belly growth, nerve pain, or headaches.

Postpartum care focuses on rebalancing the body after birth to support proper movement during recovery and while caring for the baby. Treatment often includes work on the hips, low back, mid back, and neck, addressing strain from feeding, holding, and caring for a newborn, as well as residual tension from birth. Care may begin as soon as someone feels comfortable coming into the office for body work—sometimes within the first week after birth, and sometimes a few months later.
